I remember long days on a beach along the Romagna coast, shaping fragile structures from improbable ideas—forms destined, from their very inception, to disappear. Exposed to wind, water, and the passage of others, these temporary architectures existed in a state of constant vulnerability, never complete, always on the verge of collapse. A repeated gesture unfolded between the impulse to build and the quiet awareness of loss.

The photographs are made using an elemental and archaic device—a pinhole—applied to a contemporary digital camera. From this encounter between distant technologies emerges an unstable chromatic field, responsive only to the shifting conditions of light, free from any corrective intervention.
The images appear flat, granular, almost resistant to clarity. Forms surface only faintly: the castles persist as uncertain presences, their structures elusive, their outlines dissolving into the surrounding space.
